With the deluge of rain finally behind us, the Pioneer boys golf team finally got to open up their season against conference opponents Tell City and Gibson Southern. BHS topped the Tell City marksmen. The team had hoped to start with a perfect 2-0, but fell short to Gibson Southern, shooting 162 to the Titans 157. Peyton Blackard was the low medalist with a -2 score of 34. Finishing tied for second was the birthday boy Cash Willis with a +2 38. The pioneers also recorded scores with Mason Keller 40, Captain Mason Mills 41, and Captain Tanner Garrett with a 43. Landon Morris shot 44 and Wyatt Belcher shot 46. The pioneers had a number of players making their debut, and they have a lot to be proud about. Shout-out to Emmitt, Gavin, Gage, Dillon, and Noah for playing their first competitive matches! The team returns to action in a week's time, traveling to battle the Jasper Wildcats at Buffalo Trace in Jasper.
