The boys varsity Track and Field team competed strong in first Indoor meet.

The Boonville Boys Track and Field Team competed at Indiana State University on Saturday for HSR Indoor state qualifier. This is the first time in recent years that team has completed at an indoor track meet. The boys were lead by Jr. Jordan Paul by winning the 60M hurdle event in a time of 8.57 seconds. Jordan also placed 3rd in the 60M dash with a time of 7.24 seconds. Sophomore Aiden Perigo placed 7th in the 60M dash with a time of 7.61 seconds. Senior Cole Cundiff placed 4th in the shot put with a throw of 45'9". The 4x800 Relay team of Logan Whyte, Grant Montgomery, Kayden Musgrove, and Caleb Gentry placed 3rd with a time of 9:00.90. The MDR distance medley team of of Whyte, Musgrove, Gentry, and Westerfield placed 7th. The 4x200M relay team of Nolan Mckinney, Aiden Perigo, Talen Belwood, and Jordan Paul placed 4th. Grant Montgomery placed 8th in the 3200M run, Tripp Kelley placed 12th in the long jump, Kyler Fisher placed 25th in the shot put, and Alex Scherzinger placed 28th. BHS also ran two teams in the 1600M relay. Team A of McKinney, Whyte Montgomery and Perigo placed 3rd overall with a time of 3.54.54 and Team B of Musgrove, Gentry, Wilson and Westerfield won their heat but was DQ'd in the overall results due to a lane infraction. They ran a time of 4:02.38. The team did very well for their first Indoor meet. The boys will be back in action on March 19 for their first Outdoor meet of the season vs Central and Bosse @ Central.
