The Lady Pioneers soccer team took on Mount Vernon in the Sectional Semifinal. It was a solid, equally matched game. Scoring early on for the Pioneers was Ava Kelley, who scored despite being knocked off-balance and at a hard angle to the goal. Very few mistakes were made, but a few collapses in composure led to opportunities for Mount Vernon. Maya Cobb slotted a beautiful ball in to bring the team within closing distance, but with little time left, the deficit could not be overcome. The team battled hard and left all they had on the field. To our seniors, thank you for four years of dedication, perserverance, and hard work. We appreciate you, and we are proud of you. To the team, hold your heads high and be proud of what you left on the field. Your coaches are endlessly proud of you.
