On Monday night the lady pioneers closed out their regular season with a dominant 7-3 win at Tell City! The team were buoyed by the return of clutch players Ava Kelley and Barney Barnhill. The team jumped out to an early 2 to nothing lead after Maya Cobb finished off of an Ava Kelley assist, followed shortly by a solo effort from Ava in her first game back. The ladies gave up a couple goals to the Marksmen from a set piece, and then a penalty, but Ava and Maya each had another goal to take the lead back to 2. After half time the pioneers kept pushing. Maya Cobb had 3 more goals in the second half, reaching 50 career goals, which is a huge accomplishment. Overall the team was finally playing up to our potential. Way to finish out the regular season, ladies. To our two seniors, Addison and Mia, it's been real and we love you. The girls open sectional play on Thursday October 10th at EVSC fields.
