Varsity vs Washington High School (1 - 6) Loss Wednesday evening, the banged up and battered lady Pioneers rolled into Washington to take on conference opponents Washington Hatchets. Injuries have had a huge impact on the team over the past 2 weeks, but the pioneers kept fighting for each other, even after being reduced to no subs on the bench. Maya Cobb had the pioneers lone goal, scoring an outstanding free kick from 5 yards outside the box. Cobb's kick beat the keeper's outstretched hands and dropped into the top corner, snug as a bug in a cashmere rug. On defense the team got resilient performances from a number of players. Ladies, your coaches and parents see the way you all pick each other up and keep on despite the adversity.
