The lady pioneers had a HARD fought battle Wednesday night against the Washington Hatchets, however they came up a little short. The score line wasn't great but the effort was top class. The Pioneers gave up some easy goals early into the first half which put the Hatchets in a commanding position. Let's start off by shouting out our tireless defense and Hadley Hart, our goal keeper. Hadley had some amazing saves last night, even though the outcome said otherwise. Our midfield, which consisted of Morgan Poellein, Lydia Lemond, Reese Ransom, and Kaitie Davis, also did amazing tonight, providing a lot of cutting passes up to our forwards. The Pioneers' 2 goals were scored by Ellie Tieman and Paisley Fuquay. In the first half Morgan Poellein threw Ellie a dot of a pass, who tapped the ball into the goal with her weaker left foot, which brought the score to 4-1. Later in the second half there was a scramble in the box when Paisley laid in a perfect shot, putting the score to 8-2. Even though this game was a loss, the girls played hard tonight and will be back at it tomorrow night at home following the boys game. Students need to pack the stands for both games, because we are recognizing all of the amazing exchange students in between games! See you there, Pioneers!
