Varsity vs Mount Vernon HS (2 - 3) Loss Boonville Boys Tennis kicked off the season vs Mount Vernon on Saturday, falling a bit short in a close match to a good Wildcats squad. Brannon Hancock started his Senior season off with a win at Number 1 singles, taking the match (6-4, 6-2). At two singles, Landon Aldridge played a great match against Mt Vernon's 2 before falling (4-6, 1-6). At three singles, Jaren Hancock played through shoulder soreness, giving a gutsy effort before coming up short, losing (3-6, 2-6). At No. 1 Doubles, Grant Scales and James Conner played very well in their first match together, falling (3-6, 2-6). Finally, the Number 2 Doubles Team of Keegan Conner and Gavyn Bryson looked extremely impressing, winning (6-0, 6-2). The young group showed a lot of potential in their first match of the year.
