Thursday night the Lady Pioneers Soccer Team made the journey to Mt. Vernon to take on the Wildcats in a preseason Scrimmage. It was really good to finally see the team stack up against an opponent after so many months of preparation. As this was a scrimmage, no official score was kept, but the coaching staff were able to see a number of players at different positions and ascertain areas that need to be worked on. The Pioneers had plenty of chances to break out but were caught offside on several possessions. Morgan Poellein had a fantastic goal after she beat multiple players on a lovely solo dribble. Nikki Snow ran her heart out and made a number of excellent plays for the team. Hadley Hart showed a ton of courage and selflessness in the goal, putting her body on the line when the team needed it. Overall, every girl showed that they are willing to play for the team and support their sisters on the field! This is only the beginning! The girls open their conference season at Heritage Hills on Tuesday evening.
