On Saturday the Pioneer boys golf team competed in a stacked field at the Hatchet Invite. The Washington Hatchets hosted multiple state talents at Country Oaks Golf Course, getting the tournament in despite really difficult weather conditions. The Boonville boys competed through stinging rain and blistering wind gusts, fighting to a 6th place finish in a field of 20 teams, only 5 shots off of 2nd placed Forest Park. The Pioneers posted a team score of 329, with several Pioneers recording top 5 scores. Cash Willis posted a score of 74, tying for 3rd place. Mason Mills finished 1 stroke behind with a 75, in solo 5th place. Excellent work, Cash and Mason! Will Whyte held on through the cold weather to shoot 84. Gage Vincent shot 96, and Emmitt Roy shot 105. Boonville will play again on Wednesday at Boonville Country Club versus Tecumseh and Pike Central.
