Boonville Softball Takes The Win At Heritage Hills

Boonville Lady Pioneers opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two home runs. Boonville Varsity Pioneers first got on the board when Emily Parker hit a solo home run to center field. Ashlyn Collins hit two home runs and drove in three as Boonville Varsity Pioneers defeated Heritage Hills 10-8 on Thursday. Collins homered in the first and third innings. Heritage Hills tied the game in the bottom of the first off an error. In the top of the second inning, Boonville Varsity Pioneers went back into the lead after Ellie Tieman hit a sacrifice fly, and Parker singled to center field, each scoring one run. Heritage Hills made the score 6-4 in the bottom of the second after Sierra Wargel drew a walk, scoring one run, Emma Fischer drew a walk, scoring one run, and Litherland singled, scoring two runs. Boonville Varsity Pioneers scored one run in the top of the third on a solo home run to left field by Collins on the sixth pitch of the at-bat. Collins doubled to center field on the seventh pitch of the at-bat, which helped Boonville Varsity Pioneers tie the game at six in the top of the fourth. Heritage Hills took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Boonville Varsity Pioneers captured the lead, 10-8, in the top of the sixth when Mia Clamme doubled, scoring two runs, Baylee Hunt singled, scoring one run, and Molly Lockridge doubled, scoring one run. Clamme earned the win for Boonville Varsity Pioneers. The pitcher allowed six hits and four runs (two earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking five. Nevaeh Wall started the game for Boonville Varsity Pioneers. The pitcher allowed three hits and four runs (two earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking two. Boonville Varsity Pioneers amassed 14 hits in the game. Collins and Parker were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits for Boonville Varsity Pioneers while hitting back-to-back. Hunt and Remi Campbell each collected multiple hits for Boonville Varsity Pioneers. Great WIN ladies!
